Dr. S. Radhakrishnan,
a great philosopher, had a great passion for
his teaching career. An invaluable teacher of
the era was born on September 5th 1888.
He started his career
as a teacher. He showed his courage in exhibiting
his philosophical thoughts, his determination
in moulding the students, his hardwork in reaching
the peak of fame. His achievements progressed
from 1911 as he started his career as an Assistant

In 1916 he was a Professor. From 1920 onwards he started
publishing a series of articles like 'Indian Philosophy'.
The reign of religion in contemporary philosophy' 'Gandhi
& Tagore', Introduction to Gandhi' etc.

Education Commission
In 1949 - Ambassador to the
Soviet Union by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru
President of India from 1962

In 1962 the entire teacher's society
and the educational society of the country was honoured
when the fabulous legend was elected as the President
of India. His end came on April 17th 1975. Thus ended
a glorious chapter in the annals of Indian History.
As a honour and tribute to Dr. S. Radhakrishnan we celebrate
his birthday as Teacher's Day.
